When creating a Trip, you will be asked to choose a Registration Type for the overall trip. There are three different types of Registrations you can choose from that will determine who can access the trip registration form and how visible the trip is to the public. 

Trip Privacy Options

Open Trips

The most defining characteristic of Open Trips is that there are no restrictions on who has access to view the registration form for the trip. This is commonly used for trips that do not require an application, and that are open to the general public. 

• Visibility: If you use the trip plugins to display this trip on your website, these trips will show an open registration button.
• Accessibility: Anyone can access and complete the registration form. Fundraisers will still be accessible to the public.

Closed Trips

Closed trips are most commonly used with organizations that require an application before registration is completed. This is most commonly used for trips that are for a designated group. Ex: A high school class, a specific church, a nonprofit's board members. 

• Visibility: If you use the trip plugins to display this trip on your website, the trip information will be displayed but the Registration Button will not be available.
• Accessibility: Trip leaders (or the organization) will have access to a unique URL that will allow access to the trip registration. Trip Participants must be given this unique URL to access the trip registration form. Fundraisers will still be accessible to the public.

Hidden Trips

Hidden trips offer the most privacy out of the three registration options.

Hidden trips are most commonly used for trips where the location or team members require high levels of privacy and security.

• Visibility: If you use the trip plugins to display trips on your website, hidden trips will not appear.
• Accessibility:
  • Trip leaders (or the organization) will have access to a unique URL that will allow access to the trip registration.
  • Trip Participants must be given this unique URL to access the trip registration form.
  • Fundraisers will be marked as private
  • Only accessible to donors who are given the unique URL for the trip participant's fundraiser.
