If a donor's recurring donation has errored due to a payment method issue (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.), you can send them a Secure Link to update their payment information directly — no sign-in required on their end.
Please Note: Secure Links expire after 30 minutes. If the donor does not use the link in time, you will need to generate a new one.
Step 1: Go to https://purecharity.com/ and "SIGN IN" to your Pure Charity account
Step 2: Click on the Recurring Donations tab under Accounting
Step 3: Locate the donor with the errored recurring donation.
Step 4: Click Share Payment Method Link for that donor's errored donation.
Step 5: Copy the Secure Link and send it to your donor via email, text, or your preferred communication method. You can also click Email Link and a link will be sent to the donor and the email we have on file for them.
What the Donor Experiences
When the donor clicks the Secure Link, they will be taken directly to a page where they can enter their updated payment information. They do not need to sign in to use the link.
Important Notes
- Secure Links expire after 30 minutes. If the link expires before the donor uses it, simply generate a new one by following the steps above. You might need to refresh the page after 30 minutes.
- The donor does not need to sign in. The Secure Link provides direct access to update their payment method without requiring a login.
