Everything you need to know to manage your Pure Charity account

Why can't I choose any non-profit (not verified by Pure Charity) to donate to?

It is important for us to ensure that the Field Partners approved have a track record of ethical and effective performance in their operations so members can have confidence that their donations will make an impact. Field Partners are essential to the success of Pure Charity by providing the projects and causes that members want to support.

Pure Charity’s goal is to remain “pure” in meeting its objective of helping people. Aligning with organizations that provide specific projects that meet our criteria and are accredited in doing it ethically and effectively is how we ensure project success. This also helps us avoid controversy that might inhibit people and companies from participating, and possibly reducing the amount of funds to help people in need around the world.

Many companies have specific guidelines for what projects they'll support. They may place restrictions on where or how funds are donated or what their contributions will go toward. Pure Charity provides organizations and projects that meet the criteria of selected United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to eliminate controversy or objections by focusing on meeting the needs of people. That way, projects can be tracked transparently to show how the funds are being used.

While this may restrict some options for members, it's important to remember that this allows companies to participate to a greater degree. It can also expand opportunities for Pure Charity members to create additional funds from their everyday spending for donating to worthy projects and causes.
